Admission to CSU-Pueblo
does not imply acceptance to the nursing program. Applications to
the nursing program may be obtained at www.colostate-pueblo.edu
or in the nursing department by calling 549-2401 or email at
nursing@colostate-pueblo.edu.
The complete applications must be submitted to the nursing department.
- For the general student admission, requirements
are a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and completion of required
prerequisite.
- Students for whom English is a second
language must have a TOFEL of 550 or have completed the University
requirements for English and Speech skills.
- For the basic student admittance process
the student needs to be admitted to CSU-Pueblo first, then submit
a separate application to the nursing program, of each
year for general students to be admitted the following spring
semester. Late applications may be accepted based on space availability.
Admission points are given to those whose application was submitted
the earliest.
After
Admission and Prior To Starting Nursing
Clinical Courses
- Colorado law requires all persons who have
direct contact with vulnerable persons, including patients in
health care facilities, must submit to a criminal background
check and drug screening. All students admitted to the CSU-Pueblo
Nursing program must have a drug screen and fingerprint background
check by the Campus Police Department prior to beginning the
nursing major (House bill 97-1084).
- All students must be currently certified
in CPR (Health Care Provider-C, carry professional liability
insurance, must have a student health physical form filed with
the Student Health Services and must have all immunizations
current including Hepatitis B and a TB test.
Tuition and Fees
Full tuition and fees are due and payable at the end of each semester
before being allowed to register for the next semester. All tuition
and fees are subject to change without notice.
Financial Assistance
The University of Southern Colorado Financial Aid Office and the
Department of Nursing work together to assist students in obtaining
grants, scholarships, and loans.
