MET Curriculum Plans (Program Phaseout)
A student must complete 124 credit hours in order to graduate with a BSMET degree. This program can be completed in four years (eight semesters) by a student going to school on a full-time basis. Since many of the courses build on each other, it is important that the courses are taken in the proper sequence. This is similar to the construction of a house, which begins with the foundation, progresses to floor and walls, and finally is completed when the roof is put on.
Since the MET program is being phased out over the next semesters, students must plan to graduate on or before May 2008. This page gives the most recent information on planned course offerings and several generic semester-by-semeter plans for continuing students. Students following these plans will be able to complete the MET program at the indicated time.
We realize that many students will have special circumstances that will require modifications to the generic plans. For that reason it is very important that all students see their academic advisor and stay in close contact with them until graduation.

The first plan is intended for students who are juniors in the fall 2005 semester planning to graduate by May 2007 and have been following the suggested curriculum plan until this time:
The second plan will fit students who are sophomores in the fall 2005 semester planning to graduate by May 2008 and have been following the suggested curriculum plan until this time:
Students who have not completed the MET freshman sophomore level courses (MET 105, 112, 203, 204, EET 250) before the fall semester 2006 are not able to graduate from the MET program. We recommend that you talk to Dr. Sauer or Dr. Fraser, chair of the engineering department, about switching to another major.
