The Department of Engineering offers degrees in two unique engineering areas:
mechatronics and industrial engineering. CSU-Pueblo is the
only Colorado university offering undergraduate degrees in these areas.
Mechatronics combines mechanical and electrical engineering with computers to create devices that make our lives better. A heart-lung machine, a computer-controlled telescope, the Mars Rover, BattleBots, Disney World automated rides, and Hollywood animatronics creatures are all examples of mechatronics.
Industrial engineering involves the
improvement of the efficiency, quality, and safety of processes.
Examples of companies that have hired our industrial engineering
graduates are Goodrich, Trane, Starbucks, UPS, Colorado Springs
Utilities, Intel, General Electric, and General Motors.
Our programs involve small classes, hands-on engineering
education, excellent labs and computing facilities, and close
interaction with faculty members.
The Department of Engineering at Colorado State
University-Pueblo offers four engineering programs:
- The Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Mechatronics
specialization (BSE-Mechatronics) is a 4-year program that can
be completed at CSU-Pueblo.
- The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) is
a 4-year program that can be completed at CSU-Pueblo.
- The Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering
(MSISE) is a 36 hour program.
- The Pre Engineering program allows students to take 2 years
of courses at CSU-Pueblo and transfer elsewhere to complete an
undergraduate degree in engineering.
