Dr. Marquesen studied at the University of Kansas where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Child Development, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental and Child Psychology. Her post-doctoral work at Ohio State University was in Special Education. Dr. Marquesen currently serves at Associate Dean of the College of Education, Engineering and Professional Studies. In addition, Dr. Marquesen serves as Program Coordinator for the Teacher Education Program and the Liberal Studies major. She is also the Project Director for several grant initiatives including the Southern Colorado Teacher Educational Alliance, Transition to Teaching Project, Professional Development Initiative, Teacher Recruitment Initiative and a Title V Cooperative grant.

Dr. Checho studied at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education and Technology. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Special Education and Disabilities Services from the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Checho’s dissertation was titled: The Effects of Podcasting on Learning and Motivation: A Mixed Method Study of At-Risk High School Students. Dr. Checho currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Differentiation of Instruction and Assessment.

Dr. Piazza studied at Adams State College where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Elementary Mathematics Education. She earned a Doctor of Education degree at Oklahoma State University in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Elementary Mathematics Education and Early Childhood Education. Dr. Piazza’s dissertation was titled: An Inquiry Into the Mathematics Culture of a Primary Constructivist Classroom: An Ethnographic Description. Dr. Piazza currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Elementary Mathematics, Children’s Literature and Integrated Methods.

Dr. Piquette studied at the University of Northern Colorado where he earned his Master of Arts degree in Chemistry with a research emphasis in organic and biochemistry, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry Education with areas of specialization in Chemistry Education, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Dr. Piquette’s dissertation was titled: An Analysis of Strategies Used by Chemistry Instructors to Address Student Alternate Conceptions in Chemical Equilibrium. Dr. Piquette currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Elementary and Secondary Science Methods, Physical Science, Teacher As Change Agent, and Capstone.
