2013 Southeastern Colorado AHEC Regional Nightingale Nurse Recognition Luminary

Dr. Peg has a PhD from Colorado State University-Ft. Collins and a Master of Science with a major in Nursing from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She currently coordinates the Nurse Educator track in the CSU-Pueblo masters program and teaches nurse educator synthesis and thesis seminars. Additionally, Dr. Peg coordinates the National League for Nursing (NLN) accreditation reports. 

As a former dean of health in Denver and health programs manager for the state of Colorado, Dr. Peg has been active in nursing education and administration for many years. In addition to teaching nursing courses, Dr. Peg is the co-author of Essentials of Mathematics for Health Occupations and the author of numerous articles on career and technical education, the Learning College, assessment and teaching effectiveness. 

Over the years, Dr. Peg has written and received grants totaling $4.3 million from the U.S. Dept. of Labor, the CO Division of Youth Corrections and the Denver Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development. She serves on the boards of the CO Women’s Hall of Fame and the CO Audubon Society. Research interests include developing a nurse educator certificate program to attract qualified nurses into education.
